Myra Baker Obituary

Myra Joyce Kling Baker

Joyce was born in Kokomo, IN on July 20,1947 and passed away peacefully at the Waterford Place Health Campus in Kokomo, IN on Nov 6, 2025 surrounded by family and friends.  Her parents, Everett & Patricia Kling, her brother David E. Kling, and her only child, Jody Lynn Heeter proceeded her in death. Joyce was the first born of seven children and was the ‘in charge’ – type A person – helping her parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, and grandparents all her life.

Surviving relatives include  – Rosemary Kling Rich (Orlando, FL), Mikel Kling (Bunker Hill) , Jack Kling (Bunker Hill) Timothy Kling (Raleigh, NC), John Kling (Everett WA), Son in law - Kevin Heeter (Indianapolis). along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Joyce graduated from Maconaquah High School in 1965 and quickly joined the work force eventually retiring early from Ameritech in the late 90’s.  Her next career involved buying and managing multiple homes in the Lebanon area.  She not only provided affordable housing in the area but also engaged in private mortgages for people who needed a helping hand.  Her qualities of kindness and generosity were shared with everyone she met. She loved traveling, gardening, reading, fishing, motorcycle riding and cooking.  She was a devoted daughter to her parents and loved her role as a mother to her only daughter.

The family would like to express our sincere appreciation to all the relatives and friends that provided amazing encouragement for Joyce throughout the last few years.  In addition, the employees of Waterford Place adopted Joyce in their “family” and provided her with the excellent care, respect, and support she needed.  A sincere thank you to all that loved and cared for her.
