Harold E. Minns Sr., 82, of Peru peacefully passed away on July 23, 2017 at his residence.
He was born in Lafayette, Indiana on April 15, 1935 to Millard and Ruth (Cochran) Minns.
He married Doris Lewis in 1957. After serving in the United States Army, he retired as a welder. In his free time, Harold enjoyed planting flowers and spending time with his family, neighbors, and his dog, Lucy.
Harold is survived by his wife and their children: Kevin (Wendy) Minns, Harold (Margie) Minns, Dan (Kimberly) Minns, Jerry (Diane) Minns, Tonya (Sam) Stuber, Brad (Tionna) Minns, Karen (Jim) Townsend, Darren (Tonya) Minns, Alice (Tony) Donnaurmmo, and Billy Minns. Also surviving are 34 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Valerie Minns.
Visitation will be held from 11am - 2pm on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. Funeral service will follow at 2pm, with Peter Redmon officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru, with military service provided by the Miami County Military Rites Team.
