Willie James Bramlet passed away on March 15, 2023 at Blair Ridge Health Campus in Peru, Indiana.
He was born in Nettleton, Mississippi to the late James and Willie (Armstrong) Bramlet. He married Mary Alice Vance and she preceded him in death on May 21, 1969.
Willie worked on the railroad and enjoyed flower gardening and playing the guitar in his freetime.
He is survived by his children; Kathy (Michael) Burt of Peru, Willie Burney of Kokomo, Marcus Burney of Peru, Donald (Sharon) Sykes of Peru, Ronald Sykes of Peru, Larry Sykes of Gary, Garrick (Irene) Burney of Shiloh, Illinois, several grandchildren, brothers; Eugene Bramlet of Nettleton, Mississippi, Johnnie Bramlet of Nettleton, Mississippi, and sister, Willene Bramlet of Memphis, Tennessee.
Willie is preceded in death by his parents, wife, special friend of many years, Carrie Fuller, brother, Clint Bramlet, and sister, Nettie Bramlet.
Visitation will be held from 11am to 1pm on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. The funeral service will follow at 1pm with Donald Fuller officiating. Burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru, Indiana.
In Willie’s honor and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
