William “Bill” Melvin Housouer, 71, of Peru, Indiana passed away on Thursday, December 11,2025 at his residence.
He was born on December 5,1954 in Lansing, Michigan to William Nathaniel and Evelyn (Kennedy) Housouer Wilson. On April 27,1985 Bill married Belinda “Sue” (Johnson) Housouer. Bill was a career military man, who served in the United States Army Reserves for over 40 years. He also owned and operated his own roofing company. Bill was an avid deer hunter who enjoyed his annual trips to Michigan to go hunting. He also enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Eagles.
Bill is survived by his wife, Sue, and their children, Timothy Housouer of Peru and Jennifer (Kyle) Lamson of Peru. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Brianna Housouer, William Housouer, Hunter Housouer, Christian Housouer, Matthew Housouer, Jackson Barnard; one great grandchild on the way, Korbyn Meyers; and two sisters, Jean Housouer of Kokomo, Indiana and Elizabeth Buck of Rochester, Indiana. There are several step-sisters, a step-brother, and many other extended family members who survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025 from 11:00am-2:00pm at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. Funeral services will begin at 2:00pm with Pastor Adam Linkenhoker officiating. Military Rites will be provided by the Miami County Military Rites Team.
