William “Bill” A. Butzin, 80, of Peru, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at home with family by his side.
He was born October 10, 1944 to Robert and Lola (Brown) Butzin and graduated from North Miami High School in 1963. Bill served in the United States Army Military Police and later retired from Norfolk and Southern Railroad where he worked as an engineer.
He is survived by his children: Cindy (Brent) Ewer, Dawn Hooker, Kimberly (Mike) Stuber, Kirby (Stephanie) Butzin, and Tammy Cole. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Ron (Linda) Butzin of St. Peters, Missouri.
Bill is also survived by his loving partner of 17 years, Peggy Anderson, and her children, Mike (Shelly) Hollarman and Kelly (Terry) Smith. In addition to 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Judith Secaur, brother Rickey Butzin, and Gina Hollingsworth.
Per Bill’s wishes, there will be no services. Burial will take place at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Peru at a later date.
