Wendell “Whitey” L. White, age 85, a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2026, at St. Joseph Hospital in Granger, Indiana.
Born on November 19, 1940 to Verla and Vera Finster White. He graduated from Bunker Hill High School Class of 1958.
On June 14, 1963, he married the former Bonnie Spencer at Oakdale Baptist Church, Peru, Indiana and together they shared a joyful and devoted 63 years of marriage.
Wendell was employed for 39 years at Delco Electronics, Kokomo, Indiana, and owner and operator of Suncoast Painting for 5 years in Naples, Florida.
Wendell will always be remembered by his wife, Bonnie; daughter Shelley (Kevin) Clemans, son Brent, and brother and sisters-in-law, Bob and Joyce Spencer, Pete and Joyce Tschiniak, Kenny and Betty Resler, Kathy Jones, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Verla and Vera; brothers, Maynard, Melvin, Norman, and sister Mary. Surviving; sister Dixie (Greg) Conklin and brother Bobby.
Honoring Wendell’s wishes cremation will take place and his family will be celebrating his life privately.
