Wanda G. (Sears) Krohe

Wanda G. Krohe, 98, of Peru went to be with her Heavenly Father the afternoon of Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at Majestic Care in Lafayette, Indiana. 

She was born on February 16, 1925 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan to Joseph and Ruth (Oehmke) Sears. She graduated from Mt. Clemens High School in 1943. Wanda married Donald O. Krohe, USAF, on December 25, 1943 in Mt. Clemens. She and her husband lived stateside and overseas during Don's career in the Air Force. She was an active member of the St. John's Lutheran Church, serving on the Altar Guild and singing in the choir. Wanda also worked in the archives and helped serve funeral dinners. She was extremely active in the church's LWML. 

She was an exceptional seamstress and enjoyed making her children's and grandchildren's clothing. Wanda enjoyed bowling, playing softball, and hockey. She clerked at Lord's Dress Shop, managed the dry goods department at Sengers and retired from Peru Community Schools lunch programs. 

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and son, Charles, brother, Daniel, and sister, Gloria Lee.

Wanda is survived by her daughters, Susan Moore (Gary), Peru and Michele Ulrich (Steven), Lafayette.

She truly loved her 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana on Thursday, July 20, 2023 from 5pm to 7pm. The funeral service will be held at the St. John's Lutheran Church, 181 West Main Street, Peru, Indiana on Friday, July 21, 2023 at 10:30am with Rev. Joshua Dub officiating. Burial will immediately follow at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Peru. 

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or St. John's Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
