Viola "Burl" Wright

Viola “Burl” B. Wright passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Dukes Memorial Hospital in Peru.

She was born in Prestonburg, Kentucky on February 1, 1936 to William “Willy” and Ocie (Prater) Wright.

Viola was one of 14 children.

In her life, she loved to laugh and be in the presence of other people.

Viola is survived by her son, Ricky (Stacy) Wright of Peru and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; six sisters, Margaret, Mildred, Easter, Nora, Lora, and Caroline; and five brothers, William Jr., Tommy, Vernon, John, and Hoadley.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 21, 2022 from 11am to 1pm at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. The funeral service will follow at 1pm with Pastor Rod Correll officiating. Burial will take place at Ever-Rest Memorial Park in Logansport, Indiana.
