Vinnie Lee Wilkinson, 80, of Peru, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Dukes Memorial Hospital.
She was born on September 3, 1940 in Danville, Illinois to Harold and Revene (Rhodenbaugh) Thomas. She married Larry Wilkinson on November 5, 1972, and he survives. Vinnie was a homemaker. She loved interior decorating, hummingbirds, butterflies, owls, gardening, country music, and her little dog, Pebbles – but most of all, she loved her family.
She is survived by her husband, and her children: Don (Rhonda) O’Neal Jr. of Lafayette, Tonya (Jeff) Fielder of TN, Dan (Tani) O’Neal of Crawfordsville, Tamara (Kevin) Lang of Veedersburg, Dennis O’Neal of Linden, Darryl (Jennifer) O’Neal of Linden, Tracy (Albert) Scott of Lafayette, Virginia (Patrick) Lindquist of Hillsboro, Dwayne (Jennifer) Wilkinson of Peru, Gary D. Wilkinson of Williamsburg, VA, and Brenda Wilkinson Norman of Boswell. Also, 39 grandchildren, and many great- and great-great-grandchildren, as well as a great-granddaughter, Vinlee Ophelia Elaine Cottrell, due in February, 2021. Also surviving are siblings Sue Cox of Veedersburg, Janice Deffenbaugh of IL, Nancy Kirts of Veedersburg, Mike Thomas of Veedersburg, Dave Thomas of Veedersburg, and Steve Thomas of Muncie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandchild Lisa Marie O’Neal; great grandchild Cutter Spivey, and siblings Larry Dennis Thomas, Robert Chilcote, Leila Thomas Smith, and Ronald Thomas. Also preceding her in death were stepson Larry Lee Wilkinson, Jr. and Lawrence ‘Eddie’ Wilkinson.
Visitation will be held from 2pm – 4pm on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. Funeral service will follow at 4pm with Pastor Jim Rairigh officiating.
