Tyrone "Ty" H. Morton Sr.

Tyrone “Ty” H. Morton Sr., 77, of Peru passed away at his residence on Saturday, October 31, 2026.

He was born in Powell County, Kentucky on August 25, 1949 to William Howard Morton and Lucille (Hudson) Willis.

Ty retired from Electro-Nite as a maintenance technician. In his free time, Ty enjoyed working on cars, specifically his classic 1962 Chevy, watching the Cubs, riding his Harley Davidson, and hanging out in the garage nicknamed, “Third Street Alley Cheers” with family and friends.

He is survived by his children; Ty (Julie) Morton Jr. of Peru, Shannon (Rich) Banter, Travis (Christine) Morton of Peru, 4 grandchildren; Kiersten Morton, Kinzie Eidson, Jacob Robison, Sydne Dicken, 14 great grandchildren, his significant other, Sara Ousley, bonus kids, Haley and Cody Dyer, bonus grandkids, Brinley and Kennedy Dyer, and siblings; Bill (Celeste) Reed of Denver, Indiana, David (Judy) Hiers of Lawrence, Indiana, and Charlotte (Phil) Cruea of Peru. Also surviving are his beloved dogs, Charlie and Annie.

Ty is preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Matt Cruea.

Interment will take place at a later date.
