Turhan Eugene Fouts

Turhan Eugene Fouts, 81, of Peru, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at Parkview Logansport Hospital after a brief, courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on April 19, 1945 in Peru, Indiana to Albert Earl Fouts and Enid Elaine (Glassburn) Fouts. On April 16, 1966, he married Penny Sue (Wiltshire) and she survives. Turhan joined the United States Navy from 1965-1968. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal (with bronze star). He was retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad as a conductor/brakeman. He was also employed at Garden Gate Greenhouse. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0705 and also NARURE Unit 046. Turhan enjoyed gardening and playing solitaire on his Ipad and spending time outdoors. But most of all, he thoroughly enjoyed and loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Turhan was survived by his wife, Penny, and their children, Derrick E. (Tammy) Fouts of Maryland and Carissa S. (David I.) Cobble of Peru, Indiana. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren: Dillion (Bailey) Mongosa, Savannah Mongosa partner (Devon), Natane (Nic) Turner, Nevaeh Mongosa Wylam, Eli, Gabriel, Janae Fouts, 4 step grandchildren: Rebecca (George) Dennison, Rachael (Patrick) Arwood, Dana (Fabian) Acuna, David N. (Courtney) Cobble, 6 great grandchildren and 9 step great grandchildren, a brother, Ricci Lynn (Karen) Fouts of Rochester, Indiana and brother-in-law, David M. (Barbara) Wiltshire of Logansport.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
