Todd Lane Fitzgerald

Todd Lane Fitzgerald, 72, of Peru passed away Wednesday, February 26 at The Waters of Peru.

Todd was born June 5, 1952 in Lafayette, Indiana to Robert and Helen Louise (Broman) Fitzgerald. On October 12, 1984 Todd married Teresa (Douglas).

In 1971 Todd graduated from Peru High School. After graduating, Todd traveled to learn new skills from various schools including watchmaking and culinary schools.

Todd was a dedicated workingman for all of his life. He would often say that he worked hard for his family. After pursuing many careers, Todd worked for over 30 years as a custodian for Peru Community School Corporation, retiring in 2018.

Spending time with his children and grandchildren was extremely important to Todd. He enjoyed coaching his children’s sports teams, going on vacation with family, and going to the movies or playing video games with his grandchildren. Todd was also an avid fisherman, dancer and loved to golf and bowl on local bowling leagues.

Todd is survived by his children Michele (Danny) Gahs, Peru, Michael (Jamie) Fuqua, Centralia, Illinois, Robert Andrew (Amanda) Fitzgerald, Lafayette, Indiana; His grandchildren Ethan, Emma, Eden and Emmett Gahs, Amias and Ayla Fitzgerald, and Corbin Horton. His sisters Dara (Greg) Matters, Fishers, Indiana, and Carla (Don) Sturch, Peru.

Todd was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Teresa.

Funeral Services will be held at Flowers-Leedy Allen Funeral Home on Saturday, March 8, 2025 where the viewing will take place from 11am to 1pm with a service at 1pm. Burial will directly follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
