Thomas Richard Waymire, Peru, Indiana was born in Miami County on January 25, 1939 and passed away on Sunday afternoon, July 21, 2019, in his home after being ill for several months.
Tom was the first son of Richard and Sylvia (Dague) Waymire. On March 14, 1966, he married Gloria Jean Krile, having one daughter and one son, both deceased.
Tom had several jobs while growing up; working for Alvie Mattox’ grocery store in south Peru, and also Russo’s Market on West Main Street as a meat cutter. He loved cutting meat on the side for family and friends. He loved souped up cars and motorcycles, racing at the Bunker Hill Drag Strip on weekends. He had a motorcycle repair shop in his home as a side business. Tom joined the National Guard while in high school and was proud of his country. He also worked around 40 years for the N&W out of Peru.
Tom is survived by his grandson Ean Waymire of Huntington, Indiana. Also, one brother Bill (Kristi) Waymire of Port Charolett, Florida; sisters Margaret Goley (Don) of Fairfield, Ohio, Susie (Keith) Kraning of Peru, and Joyce (Bob) Spencer of Hamilton, Ohio; sister-in-law Linda Waymire; and several nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his son Eric Krile Waymire, daughter Julie Waymire, brother Joe Waymire, and his parents Richard and Sylvia Waymire.
Private services will be held at a later date.
