Thelma (Walton) Leazenby, 87, of Peru passed away on March 23, 2023 at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne.
She was born in Nottingham, England on July 14, 1935 to the late Thomas and Lillian Walton. She met Harris Leazenby in England and later married him on December 28, 1955. Harris and Thelma traveled the world due to his service in the United States Air Force. They were married 47 years prior to his death on December 30, 2002.
Thelma was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was truly the greatest mom in the world.
She is survived by her children; Tina Carter, Roland Leazenby, and Patricia Leazenby all of Peru, grandchildren; Kristen (Timothy) Shear and David (Tiffany) Carter, great-grandchildren; Lillian Shear, Kyndall Shear, Jordyn Shear, Lennon Carter, Paisley Carter, and Boston Carter, a brother, Thomas Walton of England and sisters, Pauline and Elsie of England.
Thelma is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 4 brothers and sisters.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.
In Thelma’s honor, memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.
