Tania Mayer Obituary

Tania Bowyer Mayer passed away peacefully at her home with her children by her side in Westlake Village, California on November 29, 2019. She was born December 2, 1944, in Peru, Indiana to Vinal and Marjorie Hessong Bowyer, both deceased.

She was a 1962 graduate of Bunker Hill High School and a 1967 graduate of Indiana University School of Nursing. She later earned a law degree from Loyola Marymount University and a degree in educational therapy. She was employed as an educational therapist prior to her retirement. She lived in California the past 50 years, but her heart was still in Indiana. In the last several years, she delighted in extended visits with family and friends in Miami County.

Tania had been married to Dr. Toby Mayer. She is survived by children Justin Mayer and fiancée Angela Parker; Morgan Mayer and wife Devon, and their children Riley and Declan; and Gretchen Mehren and husband Steve. She is also survived by siblings Carol Whybrew, Donald Bowyer, and Devita McClain, all of Peru, IN and Marvene Riis of Pierre, South Dakota.

A Celebration of Life was held with family and friends in Westlake Village, California on November 23, 2019.
