Susan Lynn (Carey) Perkins

Susan L. Perkins peacefully went to heaven on June 27,2026 at 10:35 pm surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on June 8,1963 in Huntington, Indiana.

Susan was a full-time grandmother. Before retiring she was a caring CNA and mother. She loved being around family. Her favorite things to do were playing cards, going on shopping trips, and taking care and spending time with her doggies.

Survivors include her son, Ron Jr. (Rusty), Juile Yates (stepdaughter), lifelong friends Kim, Sheena and Dawn Ray, Michael Swavey (son-in-law), Marsha Carey (sister) and grandchildren: Abigail Swavey, Keegan Swavey, and Braden Yates, and nieces and nephews: Amy Asberry and Aaron Eikenberry (Nichole).

Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Perkins, daughter, Crystal Swavey, and her parents, Barbara (Alexander) Carey McDowell and Robert “Bob” Carey.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 5, 2026 from 1:00pm-3:00pm at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana.
