Steve L. Latta

Steve “Steve” Lee Latta, 68, of Bunker Hill, Indiana passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at his residence.

Steve was born on July 20, 1957 in Miami County Indiana to Robert Latta and Gloria (Walton) Latta. In 1982, he met the love of his life, Pam Latta, and they spent nearly 40 years together before her passing. Steve was a lifelong carpenter and was a member of the Carpenter’s Local 615. He loved NHRA drag racing and attended the US Nationals in Indianapolis for many years. Steve also enjoyed attending classic car shows, and also loved listening to music and enjoyed attending concerts with friends at the Honeywell Center. Steve was also a fan of Miami Dolphins football and IU basketball.

He is survived by his daughter, Jessica (Chad) Kropczynski, and grandsons Isaiah and Leo Kropczynski. Also surviving are sisters, Jean (Jim) Myers, of Bradenton, FL and Deb Eck of California. Steve is also survived by brothers Randy Latta of Peru, IN and Brad (Phyllis) Latta, also of Peru, IN. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Cheryl Kocher, his brother, Robert “Bobby” Eck, and the love of his life, wife Pam Latta.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 19,2026 from 4:00pm-6:00pm at Bunker Hill Free Will Baptist Church, 729 West Broadway, Bunker Hill, Indiana. A funeral service will follow at 6:00pm.
