Shirley Jean Malott, of Peru, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in her home on E. 2nd St. on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
She was born on September 26, 1956, in Peru, where she worked, raised her family, and lived until her passing.
Shirley retired from Timberland RV in Peru, where she worked as a supervisor in the cabinet installation department. She loved her job and the people she worked with.
In recent years, Shirley enjoyed listening to music and spending time at home with her daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren.
Shirley is survived by her children, Michael Foster (Greenfield) and Tabitha Thompson (Peru); daughter-in-law, Sherri Foster (Greenfield); son-in-law, Myron Thompson (Peru); grandchildren, Dylan Foster (Greenfield), Alex Foster (Greenfield), Brenden Simcox (Peru), and Brody Simcox (Peru); and her brother, Dennis Baker.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn Baker; her siblings, Nancy Masterson and Steven Baker; and her former husbands, Steven Hightshoe and Terry Malott.
Shirley was a very private person. To honor this, her family has chosen to hold a small memorial ceremony with immediate family only.
She was also an avid supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In lieu of flowers, please honor her memory by making a donation in her name at www.stjude.org/donate.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Flower-Leedy Funeral Home in Peru. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook at www.FlowersLeedyAllen.com.
