Sharon Louise (Fishback) Conner

Sharon Louise Conner (Fishback) died peacefully on August 4, 2024, 1:38 am among loving family members.

Born in Wabash, IN on August 21, 1930, to George P. Fishback and Montus M. Fishback (Werst). Sharon grew up the youngest of seven children and was spoiled and loved dearly by all! She loved kids and even took two different nieces to school for “show and tell”. She loved all her nieces and nephews and loved growing up in Lagro and Wabash communities. She married Donald L. Baldus in 1951 and had three children. Infant daughter Dianne Lynne Baldus (D), Gary L. Baldus, and Cheryl A. Hall (Baldus).

Sharon was “found” by the love of her life and married Robert C. Conner on April 9, 1987. “Bob” brought much love and laughter to Sharon’s life, along with eight more children. They shared twenty-four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren. She adored all her kids, grands, greats and all her California and Indiana nieces and nephews. She was a much-loved Sunday school teacher for many years.

For the last 17 years, Sharon again lived in Florida, helping to raise Cheryl and Ricks grandchildren. She believed in “it takes a village” for raising kids!

Sharon’s favorite hobby was going to the beach and looking for shells with family. She enjoyed many, many trips to the beach for shelling, family time, ice cream and making wonderful memories.

After Sharon retired, she found her true calling. She was a private duty homemaker/caretaker. Most often for clients older than herself. She made such good friends in this late in life calling.

When Sharon moved into Assisted Living in 2017, she spent her time being the official greeter/customizer for all the new residents. She loved playing Pokeno and Rummikub with all her friends. Her best friend was Myrtle Keen.

A graveside service will take place at 9:30am on September 29, 2024 at Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery in Logansport, Indiana.
