In Loving Memory of Sharon Bruck

Sharon Bruck passed away peacefully on July 12, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in the company of the family who adored and loved her beyond measure.

Sharon was born on August 17, 1947, to Delores and Howard Bruck. From the beginning, she was a woman of strength, determination, and heart. A few years later, she welcomed a younger sister, Nancy, and the two became an unforgettable duo whose bond lasted a lifetime.

Sharon was known for her unwavering determination and her “I’ll get it done, one way or another” attitude. In July of 1967, she welcomed her beloved daughter, Stephanie Denise, into the world. From that moment forward, everything she did was guided by love, resilience, and devotion to her family and honest values. 

Throughout her life, Sharon worked tirelessly in a variety of trades, earning the respect of everyone around her and forming lifelong friendships along the way. Whether serving others in a kitchen or working long hours as a dependable factory employee, she gave every job her very best. She never waited around for life to get easier; she simply rolled up her sleeves and got to work.

Sharon had a timeless beauty, a smile that could brighten any room, and the warmth of someone who made others feel instantly cared for and accepted exactly as they were. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, from stargazing to watching the hummingbirds from her front porch. Sharon could fry up a chicken like nobodys business- remove stains everyone else had given up on, mend clothing catastrophes that seemed beyond repair, and make the most daunting tasks appear so easy. To call her "handy" was an understatement, that woman seemed to be able to fix just about anything. Her crocheting was unmatched, with every stitch carrying the same care, attention to detail and love she poured into everything else she did; and took great joy in making one of a kind creations for her loved ones and grandchildren. 

Sharon was the person you called to celebrate life’s little victories because she genuinely shared in your happiness. She was "the rock" for so many, and the glue that held her family together. She was also the person you called when life fell apart because she always knew how to listen, comfort, and offer honest wisdom. Her support became a steady foundation for so many who loved her.

Though she could often be found busy holding down the title of “Best Grandma Ever,” Sharon had countless passions. She loved fishing, puzzles, music, nature, and serving as the unofficial crisis counselor for friends and family alike. She was endlessly curious, fascinated by mysteries, Bigfoot, planetary events, weather phenomena, and all the wonders of the world around her. Through all of life's testing moments, Sharon remained inquisitive, bold, and forever silly; never failing to bring smiles and laughter to the faces of those around her.

Above all else, Sharon will be remembered for the way she made people feel. She made hardships lighter, celebrations brighter, and ordinary moments better simply by being there. She loved fiercely, gave the warmest hugs, and cared deeply for both people and animals. Her beloved cats through the years; Andy, Milo, Shadow, Smokey, and miss Sally (who is still with us today) held a special place in her heart, and she never hesitated to show kindness to local strays who crossed her path.

Though her family grieves an immeasurable loss, they find comfort knowing that the love she gave, the lessons she taught, and the memories she created will continue to live on. Sharon’s story does not end here, it lives on, vividly- through every life she touched, every kindness she shared, every little tip and trick she passed down; and the countless smiles she inspired.

To know her was a gift. A woman full of pure magic, she will be deeply missed, loved, "forever and ever.." and never forgotten.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Delores Bruck, and her sister, Nancy Bruck.

She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Haxton; three granddaughters, Kierea Edwards, Kerissa Klingshirn, and Kami Kinnunen; five great-grandchildren, Braxtyn Rader, Alexzander Edwards, Bricyn Kinnunen, Payzlee Klingshirn, and Oceane Rose; as well as two nieces and their children.
