Ronald Lee Burdine

Ronald (Ron) Lee Burdine, 76, a cherished resident of Peru, Indiana, passed away on April 27, 2025, after a five-year battle with Parkinson’s disease and dementia. Known for his kindness, humor (master of Dad Jokes), and desire to help others, Ron touched the lives of everyone he met.
Born on May 14, 1948, in Peru, Ron graduated from Peru High School in 1967 and served in the United States Army from 1968-1971. Ron went on to have a successful career at Delco Electronics, retiring as a Tool and Die Maker in 2003. After retiring from Delco, Ron dedicated his life to serving as a member of the Miami County EMA and serving the Peru Community School Corporation as a crossing guard and math tutor, leaving a legacy of giving back to the community. Ron was also a faithful member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses for over 50 years.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Sylvia Diane Burdine. Also surviving are Ron’s children Peggy (Daniel) Brown and Bill (Tracy) Burdine, and five grandchildren: Jarron (Lorraine), Blair (Rylee), Josh (Greg), Jay (Jenna), and Danielle (Huascar) who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts. Also surviving Ron are his brothers Leroy Burdine and Chuck Boyll, as well as many in-laws.. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marth Louise Smith & Roy Harvey Burdine, and brother Wayne Boyll.
A celebration of Ronald’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 from 4:00pm-6:00pm at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. A memorial service will follow at 6:00pm.
