Rodrick ("Taylor") Ray Baker

Rodrick Ray (“Taylor”) Baker, 78, of Peru, passed away at 5:25am on Monday, October 4, 2021 at Methodist Hospital in Merrillville, Indiana.

He was born on May 31, 1943 in Hyden, Kentucky to Raleigh and Susie (Lewis) Baker.  He married Janice (Cox) Baker, and she preceded him in death on January 28, 2021.  Taylor worked at Thrush as a foreman.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and water racing dogs.

He is survived by his son, Steven Baker, of Peru.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, brothers Walter Baker, William Baker, and James Baker,Marvin Baker, Burtis Baker, and sisters Shirley Butzin, and Oma Hudson.

Visitation will be held from 11am to 1pm on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana.  Funeral service will follow at 1pm with Rev. J. Robert Clark officiating.  Burial will be at Crider Chapel Cemetery.
