Rodney L. Miles, 65, of Peru passed away at 1:00pm on Friday, March 1, 2019 at his residence.
He was born in Lafayette, Indiana on April 28, 1953 to Allen T. and Elva Ruth (McCarty) Miles. He married M. Susan (Houlihan) Miles and she survives.
Rodney proudly served in the United States Army, and retired from Delco Electronics in 2006. He lived in Peru most of his life. He was a member of the VFW.
He is survived by his wife, Susan, and one son, Damon Miles, of Logansport. Also, two daughters, Kathleen Freels (husband Ty) and Carrie Banks, both of Peru; as well as one adopted daughter Raeann Cramer of Peru. Also surviving are three brothers: Willie Cecil Miles of Pisgah, Alabama, Billy Miles and James Miles, both of Peru; and one sister, Teresa Jernigan, also of Peru. Also surviving are fifteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, Nicholas Walters.
Visitation will be held from 4:00pm-7:00pm on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru. Funeral service will be held at 11am on Friday, March 8, 2019 at the funeral home, with Pastor Evan Strong officiating. A military service will be provided by the Miami County Military Rites Team. Burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru, Indiana.
