Eldon York, 89 of Peru passed away June 29, 2014. He was born on Oct. 5, 1924 in Miami Co. to the late Andrew and Nettie (Webb) York. He was married to Maxine "Mickey" (McMinn) York and she preceded him in death February 27, 1984. He married Phyllis (Reed) York on June 2, 1984 and she survives. His brother, John Walter York also preceded him in death. Also surviving are two daughters, Karen (Michael) Shriver of Akron, IN., Kimberly (Jeffery) Graham of Peachtree City, GA., a stepson, Jeffrey (Jill) Reed of Buffalo, IN. and a stepdaughter, Cheryl Reed of Logansport, IN., four grandchildren, five step grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one step great grandson and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are sister-in-laws, Betty (Tom) Kirk, Stella McMinn, Viola (Byron) Sommers, Shirley Jones, Patty (Tom) Chaffee, Rita Hoagland and brother-in-law, Max (Diane) Miller. He graduated from Butler Twp. High School in 1942. He was a farmer, drove a school bus, and was a Pioneer Seed Co. salesman for 35 years. He was a lifelong member of Loree Brethren Church where he served as Moderator and Deacon and sang in the Choir and Men's Quartet over the years. He enjoyed his winters and shuffle boarding in Bradenton, Florida. Friends may call on Monday from 10:00 AM till time of service, 12:00 noon, at the Allen Funeral Home in Bunker Hill, with Pastor Gene Oburn officiating. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe Cemetery, Miami County, Indiana.
