Robert D. Smith, 83, of Kokomo passed away at on February 7, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo.
He was born in Converse, Indiana on October 16, 1933 to Kenneth J. and Velma Smith. He married Doris E. Malott in 1952, and she survives. Robert served in the US Army, he retired from Delco Electronics, and was a member of the First Church of Christ in Peru.
Robert is survived by his wife, Doris. Also, four daughters: Cynthia (Kenny) Lyon, Ossian, IN; Vicky (Dave) Utterback, Columbia City, IN; Jean (Darrel) Deeds, Macy, IN; and Linda (Rusty) Gochenour, Macy, IN. Also, four brothers: Larry Smith, Kokomo, IN; Ronnie Smith, Kokomo, IN; Marvin Smith, Venice, FL; and Denny Smith, Cape Coral, FL. Also, nine grandchildren: Bradley Utterback (Amanda), Eric (Jerra) Utterback, Heather Moore (Cory), Jimmy Lyon (Katherine), Adam Deeds (Bethany), Brittany Bradenburg (Pat), Nikki Krom (Andrew), Jennifer Robinson (Justin), and Kylie Gochenour. He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as Ryan Utterback and Lisa Utterback.
Visitation will be held from 2:00pm - 7:00pm on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. Funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at the funeral home, with Pastor Shane Capps officiating. Burial will follow at the Westlawn Cemetery in Denver, Indiana.
