Richard Hartleroad Obituary

Richard R. Hartleroad, 74, of Peru, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2020 at Wellbrooke of Wabash.

He was born in Peru on May 3, 1945 to Richard N. Hartleroad and Ethel J. (Holler) Hartleroad Summitt.  He married Louise (Gross) Hartleroad on January 12, 1967, and she survives.

Richard was retired United States Army and worked as a guard at the Miami Correctional Facility.  He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.

He is survived by his wife, as well as their children: Angela (Joe) Earle of Tipton, Richard R. Jr. (Denise) of Peru, and Mary M. (Michael) Jones of Peru; as well as 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are brothers Randall Hartleroad of Fort Wayne and Voyle Hartleroad of Butler, IN; and sisters Bernice Armstrong of Florida, Jeanine Crispen of Macy, and Ramona Baldridge of Rome City, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother Anna Lee Drake Hartleroad, and sister Latrisha Krontz.

Visitation will be held from 4pm - 7pm on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at the Church of the Nazarene, 331 West Sixth Street, Peru, Indiana.  Funeral will be held at 11am on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at the church.  Burial will take place at Metzger Cemetery, with Pastor Kirk Johnson officiating.  Military service will be provided by the Miami County Military Rites Teams.

Memorial donations may be made to the Miami County Military Rites Team.
