Rachelle Hunt "Chelle", 53, of Peru passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024, at the Parkview Hospital in Huntington, IN.
She was born October 30th, 1970, in Peru, Indiana to Betty Dowell-Gapski and Edward Hunt.
Rachelle worked many jobs in her life, including multiple management positions, but her favorite was being a home-maker and taking care of her children and grandchildren.
She was a lover of all movies and TV shows, such as Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, Dexter, etc. She had collections of VHS’ and DVD's that spanned over 30 years, and always enjoyed going to the movie theater while enjoying popcorn with extra butter and Milkduds. She loved going to sporting events, especially Phoenix Coyotes games, as well as traveling; she had always wanted to visit Ireland. She was a lover of all genres of music, and would listen to them with her friends and family while driving around in her favorite car, “Luigi”.
She was a sweet, loving soul and was kind to everyone she knew. She always enjoyed helping others, donating toys and food to needy families, and her heart was generous and full of compassion. She was spunky, fun, creative, and always had a smile. Rachelle enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She would put together the most amazing parties, and was always the greatest hostess. She made every holiday special, decorating the entire house inside and out for Easter, Halloween, and Christmas; there wasn't a holiday she didn't make special for her entire family. She always cared for and spoiled her kids and grandkids. Rachelle was an amazing mother, friend, and grandmother.
She is survived by her Mother and Father, Betty Dowell-Gapski and Edward Hunt. Her children are Trey Smith of Lafayette, IN, Alexandra Littlefield (Lexie), SGTP, U.S Army of El Paso, TX, Broderick (Brody) Smith, SPC, U.S. Army Veteran of Elyria, OH. Her four grandchildren that she adored are Kayson Kelly, Lily Littlefield, Jenna Smith, Kolten, and Reign Smith. Rachelle is also survived by her brother Keven Hunt, and her sister Stephanie Baber.
Celebration of Life was held at the Riverview Event Center, 421 W Canal St, Peru, Indiana 46970, on June 29th, 2024.
Family and friends will feel her love forever.
