Paul Elvin Carter Jr., 76 of Peru passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023, at The Waters of Wabash East in Wabash, IN.
He was born on August 30, 1947, in Williamsport, Indiana to Paul Elvin Carter Sr. and Ellen Louise (Wilkinson) Carter. He married Roxanna Marie (Books) Carter on October 17, 1970, and she survives.
He enjoyed painting, woodworking, auctions, collecting marbles, yard selling, watching wrestling, cooking, and western tv shows. Paul enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had previously worked at Kofabco in Peru and Container Corporation of America in Wabash where he retired. Paul attended the Wabash Church of the Nazarene where he gave his life to Christ.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his children, Paul Brian Carter, Peru and Jason Lee Carter (Amy) of Peru; five grandchildren, Ryan Carter, Peru, Brian Carter (Ashayna Harvey), Brownsburg, Jasper Carter, Peru, Skyler Carter, Peru and Sadie Carter, Flora; two great grandchildren, Raeleigh Carter, Peru and Oakleigh Carter, Brownsburg. Paul is also survived by his sister, Aldyth Biddle (Michael), Onward and brother, Michael Carter Sr., Peru, and by many other family members.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ellen Carter, Sr., sister, Arlena K. Carter, daughter-in-law, Carrie L. Carter; and pet dog, Bear.
Visitation will be held from 11am to 1pm at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, on Friday, September 29, 2023. The funeral service will follow at 1pm with Kirk Johnson and Ryan Carter officiating. Burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru, Indiana.
