Patrick “Rick” S. McClain, 72, of Peru passed away at his residence on Sunday, September 14, 2025.
He was born in Marion, Indiana on May 27, 1953 to the late Basil and Lois (Hobbs) McClain.
Rick graduated from Eastern High School in 1971. He went on to receive a bachelors degree in general studies from Indiana University in 1981. Rick was a member of the United States Navy from 1972 to 1975. He later owned and operated Allen’s Body Shop in Kokomo, Indiana.
He was a member of the IU Alumni Association, American Legion Post 317 in Greentown for 54 years, Masonic Lodge No. 34 in Greentown, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, and the National Rifle Association (NRA).
He married Devita A. Bowyer on September 25, 1976 and she survives.
In addition to his wife, Rick is survived by his son, Garth McClain and grandchildren, Aubrey McClain, Brenna McClain, and Cohen McClain.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Karl McClain and Ty McClain.
