Patricia (Devine) Hevezi

Patricia Marie (Devine) Hevezi passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

She was born December 8, 1943 in Peru, Indiana to Richard W. Devine and Alice L. (Engleman) Devine. In the summer of 1964, she met Louis W. Hevezi, who was stationed at Bunker Hill Air Force Base. They were later married on February 12, 1966, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and he survives.

As a young woman, Patricia worked in her father’s restaurant/cafeteria in Peru. Later, she worked for many years as a teacher’s aide for Maconaquah School Corp.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sibling and friend. She was the number one fan for all her children and grandchildren’s activities. In retirement, she loved ‘rooting’ along with her husband for their local sports teams (Cubs, Pacers & Colts) and wintering down in Florida with friends.

In addition to her husband, she is also survived by her children, Louis Hevezi (Margueritte), Columbus OH, Sue (Hevezi) Metiva (Jeff), Delafield WI, Chris Hevezi (Maria Kanellos), New Orleans LA; four grandchildren, Nick Metiva, Delafield WI, Ryan Metiva, Delafield WI, Max Hevezi, Columbus OH, Malia Hevezi, Columbus OH. Also surviving are three brothers: Richard Devine Jr. Kokomo IN, Michael Devine Bremen IN, Thomas Devine Peru IN.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and brother Jeffery (Luke) Devine.

Visitation will be held at the Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third St, Peru, IN on Wednesday September 9, 2026, from 4pm-7pm. A prayer service will follow at 7pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday September 10, 2026, at 10am at St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 58 West Fifth Street, Peru, IN.
