Mildred Ann Fry, 91, of Peru, Indiana went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, December 26, 2018. She was surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born to Howard L. and Nora Mae (Adams) Poage on February 4, 1927 in Danville, IN. Mildred graduated from Peru High School. She enjoyed being a member of the Peru Marching Band as a baton twirler. Mildred retired from Essex Wires of Peru after 26 years of employment.
Mildred had a sense of humor and enjoyed helping others. She enjoyed telling jokes to help brighten up someone's day. Mildred loved her family. She would often pray for safety for her children, grandchildren, and friends. She enjoyed animals and would often watch Animal Planet. Her goodbyes would always include a hug and "God bless you." She had a kind heart and often would say, "God put us this earth to help one another."
She is survived by her children, William (deceased spouse Cheryl) Fry, California, James (spouse Maleta) Fry, Peru, Peggy (spouse Steve) Hostetler, Peru, Bonnie (spouse Richard) Maple, Denver and Robert (spouse Sandy), Peru. Grandchildren Anne Fry, Sherry Fry both of California, Heather (spouse Chad) James, Winona Lake, Angela (spouse Chad) Cox, Rockwall TX, Emily Fry, Lafayette, Michelle Maple, Marcia Maple, Joseph Maple all of Denver, Lori (spouse James) Anderson, Jamie (spouse Robin) Fry, Peru, and Tina Clemons (significant other Matt), Peru. Fifteen great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren. Her sister, Marjorie (spouse Milo) Adamson, also survives.
She is preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Geneva Williams, Mabel Emmerick and Betty Denham, and one granddaughter, Kim Fry.
Visitation will be held from 5pm – 7pm on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at the Mexico Church of the Brethren, 4460 N Mexico Rd, Mexico, Indiana. Funeral service will be held at 11am on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at the church, with Pastor Matty Myers officiating. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery in Mexico, Indiana.
