Michael Edward Ramos, 65 of Lafayette, IN, passed away on Saturday, July 10th 2021 in Fort Wayne, IN; after a battle with vascular dementia disease.
Mike was born in Corpus Christi, TX, on March 21, 1956. His parents were Abel “Ray” and Shirley Anne Patricia (Bullard) Ramos. Mike never married. He lived and worked in Lafayette, Indiana for the past 20 years. Mike spent his teenage years in the Peru area, graduating from Maconaquah High School in 1974. Mike lived in Peru, IN and then Kokomo, IN before making his home in Lafayette, IN. Mike had an avid interest in music and amassed a significant collection of music and music memorabilia over the years.
Mike lived in England and Germany as a child and enjoyed traveling back to England to visit relatives on his mother’s side of the family. Family was very important to Mike. Mike is preceded in death by his father Abel (“Ray”), youngest brother Randy and grand-nephew Austin. The memories of his life will be cherished by his mother Shirley, brother David, and sisters in law Sue Ramos and Terri Ramos. Mike leaves no children of his own to mourn his passing but is remembered by nephews and nieces Jamie Ramos, Jerid Ramos, Jonathan Ramos, Erin Luttrell and April Kennedy.
Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of Mount Hope Cemetery, Peru, IN, on Friday July 16th at 11:00 am est, where David Ramos is conducting the service. Sue Ramos is singing “Through It All”, a favorite of Mike’s. Internment is at Mount Hope Cemetery, Peru, IN, where Mike will be laid to rest immediately following the service. A short prayer and devotion will be offered at Mike’s final resting place.
