Michael “Mike” Roy Comp, 71, passed away at 6:45pm on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at home.
He was born January 30, 1952, in Kokomo, Indiana to the late Ralph Edward Comp and Irma J (White) Comp. He married Christine Marie (Dagnen) Comp on July 30, 1988 and she survives.
He was a 1970 Northwestern High School graduate. He was employed as an electrician at Howard Community Hospital from 1983 to 1997. Then took up his father’s electrical contracting business, Comp Electric, from which he retired in 2018.
He loved being outdoors, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed watching baseball and westerns. He also enjoyed reading the newspaper every morning as well as western novels. He enjoyed going to the beach and to the mountains on vacations and hunting trips. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his children, Chad Michael Wm (Mandy) Comp, Onward, Matthew Edward Comp and partner Cheyenne Dittmaier, Kokomo, Andrew Raymond (Michelle) Comp, Indianapolis, Bryce Alexander Comp, Indianapolis; four grandchildren, Kasey Comp, Lucas Comp, Karysa Stanley and Brayden Comp. Mike is also survived by a brother Patrick Comp, sisters Amy Birchmeier and Julie Hale, nieces Angela Kahl and April Hale and several great nieces and nephews, all of Kokomo.
Visitation will be held at Allen Funeral Home, 136 S Elm St, Bunker Hill, IN on August 2, 2023 from 1 pm – 5 pm. Celebration of Life will follow at 5 pm with Pastor Ray Probasco officiating. Cremation to follow. Friends and family are asked to share favorite stories or recollections that are special to them and the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Legion Post 415 or Guardian Angel Hospice Foundation.
