Melinda Sue Ray, 61, Peru, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Community Howard Hospital in Kokomo.
Melinda was born in Peru, Indiana on August 16, 1960 to the late Roy and Helen (Record) Landgrave. On November 1, 1978, Melinda married James Ray and he survives. She was most notably a homemaker. Melinda loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She also enjoyed cooking, reading, knitting, and gardening.
Melinda is survived by her husband and three daughters, Shanna Ray (Michael Wolfe), Peru, Jamie Ray (Keith Ambrose), Peru, and Candice Ray (Alfred Wulle), Peru; ten grandchildren Evan VonUhl, Jadelin Wolfe, Addalyne Ray, Mallorie Wolfe, Benson Wolfe, Thalia Hunt, Kaiden Hunt, Jace Hunt, Misti Thorpe, and Echlin Wulle; and two great-grandchildren Ava Hawkins and Devon Detrick.
Melinda was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Priscilla Landgrave.
Private family visitation will be held, Tuesday, February 1, 2022 from 1-3pm at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. Funeral service will follow at 3pm with Bishop Heywood officiating. Burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru. Memorial donations may be made to the Crohn’s Foundation.
