Maryann (Ramer) Fuqua

Maryann Fuqua, 77, of Peru passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at The Waters of Peru.

Maryann was born on March 6, 1948 to Vermont and Betty (Banks) Ramer. She married Walter “Merle” Fuqua in Peru on October 4, 1966, and he preceded her in death on November 17, 2021. Maryann was a homemaker. She was all about her family. She loved taking care of her children, grandchildren, and even extended family and friends. Sunday dinners were always something to look forward to.

She is survived by her two sons, John (Bobbye) Fuqua and Randy (Kim) Fuqua, all of Peru; grandchildren: Travis Fuqua, Shayna Fuqua, Rachele Leake, Laura Rhoades, Kaylee Hileman, and Tiffany Fuqua; and great-grandchildren: Chance Shotts, Ashton Pruitt, Milly Rhoades, Kiara Hoff, and Chase Miller. Also surviving are two sisters, Gloria Bockover and Joyce Bockover.

Maryann was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Lori  Fuqua, and brother Dennis Ramer.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Independent Christian Fellowship Church, 120 10th Street, Peru, Indiana from 2:00pm to 3:00pm. A memorial service will follow immediately  with Pastor Mark Powell officiating.
