Mary W. Arwood

Mary W. Arwood, 88, of Peru slipped quietly and peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Friday, August 4, 2023 with family at her side.

She was born July 30, 1935 in Buchanan, TN. to Clarence & Patty Bayne Chilcutt

Mary was employed at and retired from Square D in Peru, Indiana.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Gail (Howard) France, son David Heckathorn.  Grandchildren Lee (Jaci) France, Brittany McElley, Kaysey Hileman, Ryan Heckathorn (April Books),Great Grandchildren, Madison (Luke) Haws, Makinzie France (Zach Sickle), Calie France (Marshall Finke), Mackinzie & Hannah Boggs, Harper, Madisyn, Mayson & Cayden Heckathorn. One Great Great Grandson Tobi Haws. Her very special friend and companion Fred Ammerman. One sister-in-law, Delores Chilcutt. Several nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence & Patty Chilcutt, siblings; Elaine Brake, Mason, Revoe, Hafford, Foster, Bonnie, Grady, Robert Chilcutt, & Betty Jackson, one great grandson & great granddaughter, and former spouse Donald Heckathorn, Richard LaPelt & Robert Arwood.

Services will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 W. 3rd St. Peru Indiana. Family viewing will be 9:00 – 10:00. Public viewing is from 10:00 – 1:00. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 with Tom Robbins, Pastor Bryan Rouch and Assistant Pastor Vince Darland officiating. Burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery, Peru, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Miami County Helping Hands, Peru, Indiana or Guardian Angel Hospice.
