Mary Ann Acree, 86, of LaFontaine, Indiana (formerly of Peru) passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at Rolling Meadows Health and Rehab Center.
She was born on August 2, 1939 in Bunker Hill, Indiana to Adolph Judson Hoover and Gleona (Shafer) Hoover. Mary enjoyed crafting and reading. She also loved children and used to babysit for many kids throughout the years.
Mary is survived by her son, Thomas (Melanie) Boyll and her daughter, Glenda Covey. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Dayne (Maria) Marshall, Clint (Lisa) Marshall, Chelsea (Ben) Laudermilch, Audra (Stephen) Carnagua, Heather Nickels, Christopher Brown, Emilee Brown and twenty-six great grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister, Donna (Tim) Noble, a niece, Kallie Noble, a nephew, Ashley (Gretchen) Noble, and a special friend, Giovanna Blankenberger.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James Acree.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026 from 11:00am-1:00pm at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. A funeral service will follow at 1:00pm with Pastor George McCarty officiating. Burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru.
