Martin “Marty” Ellis Kintner, age 83, of Peru, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at St. Vincent’s Heart Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.
He was born May 7, 1941 in Peru, Indiana. Marty was a graduate of Peru High School in 1960. He married his high school sweetheart Mary Ann Meeker in Peru, Indiana August 20, 1961.
Marty worked for Norfolk Southern Railroad for 42 years, and retired in 2002. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had a love for caring for his lawn, only with a John Deere. He loved Corvettes and was a long time member of the Kustom Kings Car Club. His biggest love of all was his family. Always caring for his 5 children, 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He spent the majority of his retirement attending their activities and sporting events.
Survivors include his five children: Kelly Kintner (Brian Rice) of Peru, Kirk (Brigitte) Kintner of Peru, Kary (Suzette) Kintner of Peru, Kathryn Kintner of Peru, and Kyle (Barb) Kintner of Valparaiso, Indiana. Grandchildren: Maggie Zehring (Josh Shaffer), Isaac (Jenna) Kintner, Thaddaeus (Maciah) Kintner, Paxton and Ruby Kintner, Taylour (Chris) Stewart, Tyler Kintner, Carter (Morgan) Kintner, Cameron (Cassidy) Kintner, Zach (Abbie) Wright, Hannah (Steve) Adair, Madison Wright (Christa Bargerhuff), Noah Kintner, Grace Kintner, and Gia Kintner. Great-grandchildren: Aleesha Zehring, Hudson and Hartlee Wright, Bentley, Paisley, and Kolton Stewart, Adalynn Kintner, Carlan and Crue Kintner, Brooks Shaffer, and Austin Adair.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann Kintner. His parents Martin Jean Kintner and Genevieve Rose Piper. Mother-in law, Thelma Meeker. His siblings: Mike Kintner, Susan Morris, Sandy Reynolds, and great-granddaughter Kirkland Kintner.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 30th from 4-7 p.m., the service will be Saturday August 31st at 10:00 a.m. both at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 W. 3rd St. Peru, Indiana. Burial to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru, Indiana.
