Martha A. Lantz, 86 of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024 in a healthcare facility.
Martha was born on August 6, 1938 in Peru, Indiana to the late Joseph R. and Evelyn (White) Wilkinson. She married Richard “Dick” Lantz on February 20, 1959. Dick preceded Martha in death on November 2, 2013.
Martha grew up in Peru, Indiana and was a graduate of Peru High School Class of 1956. She went on to work for Delco Electronics/General Motor Corporation in Kokomo, Indiana for 38 years, retiring in 2003. In addition to working for GM, Martha owned, operated, and taught the art of ceramic creation from her Holliday Hills (Lantz’s) Ceramic Shop, in Kokomo, Indiana for many years.
Martha “Loved Holliday’s” and enjoyed decorating for every single one of them! She had an open door policy and extended that welcome to family and friends by hosting holiday dinners, sharing her love of the “Lake Life” on Lake Shafer, Monticello, Indiana. She took great pleasure in a competitive game of cards, and could line dance in cowboy boots. She enjoyed traveling with her U.A.W retiree friends, and spending time with her family.
Martha is survived by her two children: Cindy Abel, West Lafayette, Indiana and Eric (Janice) Lantz, Peru, Indiana; her grandchildren, Christopher Luc, Long Beach, California; Rebekah Curtis (James Turner), Kokomo, Indiana; Blake (Michelle) Hawley, Des Plains, Illinois; a great-granddaughter, Savannah Curtis; two sisters, Carolyn (Lon) Showley, La Jolla, California and Lana Moyer, Logansport, Indiana; as well as many nieces and nephews.
There will be a time of visitation for Martha on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 from 11:00am-1:00pm at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. Funeral services will follow at 1:00pm with Pastor Joshua Dubb officiating. Burial will take place at Kendall Cemetery in Plevna, Indiana.
