Marlin Roller Obituary

Marlin Millard Roller went home peacefully to the arms of God on October 7, 2026 surrounded by family.

Marlin was born July 20, 1926 to Millard and Martha (Irelan) Roller in Idaville, Indiana. He was one of seven children. He was the last remaining sibling. Marlin celebrated his 100th birthday on July 20, 2026.

Marlin married Doris Rosalyn (Friend) at her parent’s home on October 27, 1946. They enjoyed 71 years (minus 3 days) together. Rosie passed away on October 24, 2017.

Marlin graduated from Deedsville High School in 1944. He served in the Army and went to Korea in early 1947 in the Counter Intelligence Corp. On his return, he rented a farm outside of Mexico, Indiana and later bought outside of Macy. He farmed and worked at the Wabash Valley Bank. He retired as a Vice President after working 31 years in the banking business.

Marlin was an active member and served churches in Denver and Peru. He is currently a member of the Peru Church of the Brethren. His faith and God was an important part of his life.

Surviving Marlin; a daughter Cindy (Jerry) Duke of Findlay, Ohio; a son Brian (Ruth) Roller of Nyona Lake, Macy, Indiana; and granddaughters Angela (Jeff) Bachmann of Liberty Township, Ohio and Stacie Duke of North Canton, Ohio. Three great-grandchildren: Nathan, Nicholas, and Lauren Bachmann. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his siblings: Norman Roller, Louise Bushman, Eugene Roller, Eva Grostefon, Eleanor Irwin, and Meredith Roller.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2026 from 2:00pm-5:00pm at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. Family and friends may also call on Monday, October 12, 2026 from 10:00am-11:00am, with the funeral service beginning at 11:00am with Pastor Matt Myers officiating. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery in Mexico, Indiana.
