Margit Elaine “Maggie” Pulley, 76, of Peru, Indiana, passed away at her residence on Thursday, July 9, 2026.
She was born on February 19, 1950, in Starkville, Mississippi, to the late John Sidney and Eva Mae (Cummins) Foster.
Maggie enjoyed a career in sales, working as a real estate agent with Century 21 before beginning a successful career in automobile sales at Bob Schwartz Ford and later at Paul Richard’s in Peru.
Maggie was happiest when caring for others. She was an avid gardener with a true green thumb, taking great pride in her beautiful flower beds and abundant vegetable gardens. She loved spending time in the kitchen, cooking and baking for those she loved. She welcomed family and friends with warm meals, a beautiful garden, and a heart that always put others before herself. Maggie also enjoyed birdwatching, especially spotting bald eagles and hummingbirds, collecting glassware, playing bingo, visiting the casino, and relaxing on the shores of Lake Michigan. She dearly loved her faithful dogs, Annie and Maizey, who brought her comfort, companionship, and endless joy. Above all, her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her legacy lives on through the family she loved so deeply and the countless lives she touched with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love.
She is survived by her children, Gloria (Douglas) Preece of Westfield, Indiana; Amy Pulley of Peru, Indiana; and Carrie Conners of Peru, Indiana; her grandchildren, Tara (Beau) Beard, Tasha Lees, Jacob Lees, Mathew Pulley, Erik Conners, Kellie Conners, Casey Preece, and Billy Pulley; her great-grandchildren, Annika Pulley, Colton Beard, Max Williams, Payton Lees, Na’Mya Weatherly, Ariah Lees, Alanis Beard, and Amelia Beard, who preceded her in death; and her sisters, Marsha Curtis Thatcher and Lois Marie Long.
In addition to her parents, Maggie was preceded in death by her beloved son, Billy Pulley.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know and love her.
A celebration of Maggie’s life will be held at a later date.
