Loreda Brown, 97, of Logansport, formerly of Peru, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at Miller’s Merry Manor of Logansport, Indiana.
She was born in Powell County, Kentucky on April 14, 1927 to Venard and Maymee (Hall) Wireman. She married Charlie Brown on April 18, 1946 and he preceded her in death on September 9, 2020. Loreda was a homemaker. She enjoyed tending to her garden. She also liked cooking and canning. She was a faithful church member at Bible Holiness Church in Logansport.
Loreda is survived by her daughters: Anita Harman and Helen Hay, both of Logansport, Indiana; as well as one grandson Steven (Katie) Hay of New Castle; and two great-grandchildren, Edison Charles Hay and Annabelle Jane Hay. Also surviving are brothers, Freeman Wireman and Easterling Wireman, both of Peru, Indiana and sisters: Wanda Rogers, Betty Bellamy, Freeda Sexton, all of Kentucky, and Geneva Sparks of Peru.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brother Ray Wireman, and sister Helen Perry.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 11:00am-2:00pm at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm with David Adkins officiating. Burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru.
