Lessie Irene (Walker) Cook

Lessie Irene (Walker) Cook, 94, of Peru, Indiana passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo, Indiana.

She was born on January 22, 1931 in Grundy, Virginia to Elbert Walker and Vida Buchanon.  Lessie married Thomas N. Cook Sr. on October 14, 1960 and he preceded her in death on May 4, 2012. Lessie was a homemaker. She was also a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.

Lessie is survived by her children Carmen Bickel of Peru, Indiana, Thomas N. Cook Jr. (and wife Donna) of Peru, Indiana, and Jennifer Stevens (and husband Brad) of Peru, Indiana.  Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and a brother Jack of Ohio.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter, Joyce Cook and son-in-law, Doug Cook, 1 grandchild, 1 great grandchild, and 1 great-great grandchild. Also preceding her in death are siblings: Leroy, Georgie, Butch, Howard, Marvin, Edna, Bess, and Geneva.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2025 from 2:00pm-5:00pm at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025 at 11:00am at the First Church of the Nazarene, 331 West Sixth Street, Peru, Indiana with Pastor Mark Elliott and Pastor Tony Winter officiating. Burial will take place at Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery in Logansport, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene.
