Larry Gene Ambs

Larry Ambs, 83, passed Saturday morning, July 26, 2025, in Indianapolis, IN. He was born February 21, 1942, in Owensboro, KY. He had a career with the United States Air Force, eventually retiring in the Peru area. He met Anna Ortega in Tuscon, AZ, and married in 1967. Larry was a commercial real estate broker and remained active in his various endeavors.

He is preceded in death by his wife Anna, grandson Jonathan, and brother Arthur. Larry is survived by his 2 children. Kathryn Baumgartner (Andy) and L. Brian Ambs (Mary).

Celebration of Life will be held on August 23, 2025, from 12pm-2pm at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru. Following the service, military honors will be rendered, including a rifle volley salute and presentation of flag to his children.  

Burial will take place at Marion National Cemetery with a private ceremony.

In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made to the veteran program of your choosing.
