Kenneth Crook Obituary

Kenneth Ferron Crook , 67 of Peru, Indiana born January 18, 1954 went home to be with his mom, dad, brother and sister on Friday, October 15th, 2021. Oh what celebration that must have been.

He was a wonderful son , brother, father, uncle and PaPaw with the biggest heart of gold. Ken didn't know a stranger and if you spoke to him even just for a minute, well my friend you would gain a friend for life. Music was his life; he shared his gift with anyone who would listen. He shared this love with all his children and will be passed down for generations to come.

When words could not be spoken music speaks. It speaks of love, sorrow, and of the life we live. It's a way to connect, to understand and where words fail, music speaks.

It was Ken's way of bringing out the song in you.

Ken has left behind a loving family legacy beginning with his children, Bryan & Rita Crook, (Indiana), Marcus Crook, (Utah), Brad & Tiffany Johnson, (Utah), Kyle & Rachel Crook (Virgina), and Annie & Bobbie (Lee) Crook (Utah) & his 9 special Grandchildren, Lexi, Allyson, Shailey, Trinity, Dallas, Wyatt, Bryllie, Sawyer and Joelynn. Also surviving is his eldest brother, Dennis & Linda Crook (Indiana).

Arrangements have been made by the family for a public viewing at Flowers–Leedy Funeral Home on Thursday, October 21st, 2021 at 5:30pm - 8:00pm. Please send any flowers to them at 105 W 3rd St, Peru, Indiana 46970. A celebration of Kenny’s life will be announced at a later time.

Dad was a remarkable, fun loving, faithful and a God fearing man and will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his parents Ferron T. & Bonita Ruby Crook , brother Joel Todd Crook (Jed) and sister Annette Sue Chris.

One thing... that most of us have heard countless times, that we know our dad would love to share is one last WHISTLE BLOW.. Ken had such a love for trains, and he would yell anytime, anywhere even in the middle of the night. if there was a train whistle blowing he would  either  ask for “reverence” or yell " Blow that Wild Beast" .  So every time you hear a train whistle blowing you will always remember Ken." Life is like a train ride; some people will sit next to you and talk to you. Some will just stand around...oblivious to your existence. But Ken would have let you miss that train while you're having a great conversation and who knows when the next train would come and if you're lucky enough, there will be someone like Kenny to sit and talk to you throughout your life's journey.”

As Ken would say "we will flap jaws after while."

Arrangements have been entrusted to Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook at www.FlowersLeedyAllen.com.
