Katherine "Kay" Ann (Opp) Jones

Katherine Ann Jones, 81, died unexpectedly on Oct. 19th, 2024.  She was born Feb. 11th, 1943 in Miami County.  She was the daughter of Joseph Opp and Mary (Myers) Opp.  She attended school in Peru, IN, the same town she met her husband Bobby Neal Jones.  They were married on July 3rd, 1959 and celebrated 65 years of marriage this year. 

Kay spent 25 years making furniture and doing upholstery work at Hausseke Harlens.  She enjoyed spending her free time crocheting while watching Days of our Lives, spending time in her garden, and not a holiday could go by without her loved turkey stuffing.  She was a devoted Christian and regularly attended Sunday service at Independent Christian Fellowship in Peru since 2012.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters Marlene Turnpaugh and Connie Bloomfield, as well as her brother Ricky Opp.  Surviving in addition to her husband, is her son Robert W. Jones (Sandy), and daughter Pamela K Marburger (Paul).  As well as her siblings Joseph, Terry, and Larry Opp, and sisters Barb Mosley and Jeannie Hughes.  She was blessed with three grandchildren Alisha Marburger Johnson, Kimberly Marburger, and Lucas Jones, four step-grandchildren Shay Kahn, Kyle Nallenweg, Sean Nallenweg, and Madi Nallenweg, as well as five great grandchildren.­­­­­

A service will be held in her honor at 11:00AM Wednesday, Oct. 23rd at Reyburn Cemetery.  Following the service, a lunch will be held at Independent Christian Fellowship, located at 120 W 10th Street in Peru at 11:30AM.
