Kanda V. Russo

Kanda V. Russo, 71, passed away Monday, February 24, 2020 in the comfort of her home.  She was born on July 26, 1948 in Peru, Indiana to Lester F. Mann and Willadean L. Venis-Mann.  Both parents preceded her in death.  Also preceding her in death was one son, Craig E. Russo, and a grandson, Layne E. Russo.  Surviving family include son Bryan W. Russo, grandchildren Evan C. Russo, Carli D. Russo, Anna C. Russo, Isabella G. Russo and Sophia M. Russo, one great-grandchild Kilyn C. Russo and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

She was retired from Delco/General Motors, where she worked on the assembly line.  Kanda was known to family and friends as a kind, loving and giving soul and you always knew where you stood with her.  Her grandchildren knew her as “Mamoo.”  She was an avid boxing fan and loved spending time with family and friends around a campfire.

Visitation will be held Sunday, March 1, 2020 from 11am – 1pm at Allen Funeral Home, 136 South Elm Street, Bunker Hill, Indiana.  Funeral service will follow at 1pm.  Burial will take place at at Parklawn Cemetery in Amboy, Indiana.  Memorial contributions can be made to the American SIDS Institute in memory of her grandson, Layne E. Russo.
