Joseph Dean “Joey” LaCoss, 59, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023 at Dukes Memorial Hospital.
Joey was born in Logansport, Indiana on August 31, 1963 to David and Patricia (Higdon) LaCoss. He married Mary Jane (Rushing) LaCoss in April 2009. Joey was a very outgoing and social person as he never met a stranger. He thoroughly enjoyed helping people. He was a proud gardener, a supporter of Peru High School athletics, and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Peru. Joey proudly served in the Army National Guard.
Joey is survived by his parents, David and Patricia LaCoss; his wife, Mary Jane; step-daughter, Savannah M. Rushing; his siblings, Ronald (Ruth) LaCoss, Debbie Bertall , Donna (Bill) Pulley all of Arizona, and Diane Humphrey of Peru, Indiana. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 from 1-2pm at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. A funeral service will follow at 2pm with Pastor Mark Elliott and Pastor Tony Winter officiating. Military rites will be provided by the Miami County Military Rites Team.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the First Church of the Nazarene, 331 West Sixth Street, Peru, Indiana 46970.
