John W. Finster

John W. Finster, of Richmond, TX passed away on September 18, 2024.  He was 88 years old.  John was the son of Hazen and Bertha Finster of Peru, IN. A 1954 graduate of Peru High School, he went on to attend Indiana State University graduating in 1958.  His degree was in education, with specialties in speech and broadcasting which he used to set up and manage an educational broadcasting station in South Bend, IN for the school system. He was dedicated to education and non-profit work, spending the majority of his career managing United Way offices in Indiana, Ohio, and New Jersey.

He is survived by his loving wife Ella Carpenter Finster of Three Oaks, MI whom he married in 1967, and their daughter Krista.  Hazen, Bertha, and his brother Howard have preceded John in passing.

Donations may be made to the Miami County Indiana United Way, Indiana State University, or a charity of choice in his name.
