Jocelynn "Jocey" Paige Maldonado

Jocelynn “Jocey” Paige Maldonado, 9, of Peru went to be with the Lord on July 31, 2023. Jocelynn was born on June 5, 2014 to Johnathan Maldonado and Molly Powell in Peru, Indiana and was a student at Blair Pointe Elementary.

She was preceded in death by her father, Johnathan Maldonado, whom she adored greatly and also by great grandparents, Martin and Janet Snider (Maternal) and Bueal and Ruby Combs (Paternal), and aunt, Julie Wright (Maternal).

Jocelynn was a bright light and joy to all who had an opportunity to spend time with her due to her infectious laugh, curiosity for life, and amazing compassion for others. She was blessed with a huge family who loved her so dearly. In addition to her loved ones, Jocelynn left a wonderful impression on so many who have expressed love, thoughts, and prayers, etc. and her family has been overwhelmingly touched by these gestures.

She is survived by her mother, Molly Powell; sister, Mackenzie Maldonado; grandparents, Margaret Anderson and Allen Laurence (Maternal) and Connie Bentley (Paternal); aunts, Sara Powell, Sandy Hatten, Melanie Burgess (Doyle) and uncles, Joe McMullen (Michael) and Jerry McMullen (Rhonda) (All Maternal); aunt, Dora Mendez (Chris), and uncles, Robert Maldonado (Amy) and Michael Combs (Mea) (All Paternal); and also several cousins on both sides.  Jocey is also survived by her beloved dogs: Kiah, Bubba, and Milo.

A visitation will be held for Jocelynn and Johnathan on Monday, August 7, 2023 from 10am to 2pm at Zion Chapel Church, 915 South Broadway in Peru, Indiana. The funeral service will follow at 2pm with Pastor Rod Correll officiating. Internment will take place at Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery in Logansport, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be given to the funeral home to offset funeral expenses.
